The "12" Deluxe California King Therapeutic w/5" Memory Foam Mattress Bed with Dual AirFlow System" is an excellent mattress for an excellent price, in comparison to what else is available on the market. I spent a lot of time shopping around prior to purchasing this mattress. I checked out all the mattresses advertised on television and available at a nationwide department store. Though I saw quite a few mattresses that I liked, I found the prices being asked for them insanely expensive, and way beyond what I could reasonably afford.
Since I was unable to sleep the entire night in my old high quality brand name inner spring mattress, I thought that I was condemned to sleeping a large portion of the night in my more comfortable brand name recliner, as I had done for about two years prior to purchasing this mattress. As I got older, I developed back problems; and sleeping on my old inner spring mattress only aggravated my back problems, and I would wake up constantly throughout the night as a result of being uncomfortable, and then I would wake up in the morning with intense back pain. Sleeping on this mattress has alleviated my insomnia and morning back pain. This mattress is very, very comfortable, and the zippered cover enclosing the mattress is very, very soft and well made.
However, there are a couple of drawbacks. I find that my wife tends to oversleep in the morning ever since she has been sleeping in our new Sleep Shop mattress, requiring me to wake her up every morning so that she won't be late for work. No fooling! I also made the mistake of letting my children try out the mattress. Now, they want one just like it, but apparently Sleep Shop does not currently sell a standard size 12" or 10" memory foam twin mattress at Amazon.com (only two different twin XL versions), requiring me to look for a similar 12" memory foam mattress with a merchant other than Sleep Shop.
As for the odor other reviewers have mentioned or complained about, I barely noticed it. I followed Sleep Shop's instructions when it arrived, and was able to sleep on the mattress that same night. However, during the shipping process, UPS was able to tear through the three layers of heavy duty plastic the mattress was shipped in, so any odor from the mattress was able to vent from the mattress prior to it being delivered. UPS did slightly abrade the soft cover on the mattress, but the mattress itself was not damaged. As for the abrasion on the cover, it was not significant enough for me to request a replacement. Be that as it may, Sleep Shop might want to add a couple more layers of heavy duty plastic or some other protective shipping material when shipping by UPS, because of the enormous headache it would have been to return the mattress, if it had been damaged in shipping. Fortunately, it was not.
Overall, I strongly recommend this mattress, because of how soft and comfortable it is. For an even softer, more comfortable mattress, I would recommend going with Sleep Shop's 12" Celebrity California King Pillow Top Memory Foam Mattress. It only costs slightly more than Sleep Shop's 12" Deluxe California King Therapeutic w/5" Memory Foam Mattress Bed with Dual AirFlow System. Either way, for the money, both are a good choice, and I doubt that you will be disappointed. Sleep well!

i bought this mattress about a week ago, and was arrived yesterday. i was so suprise how good the mattress is, it has a nice firmness and so comfortable-( as good as a high-end name branded mattress)- but there is one small problem- the chemical odor. i have been aired it out for almost two days and the smell still lingering. i hoped it will goes away soon. i can't wait to sleep on it. If anyone out there could give an advices about eliminating the chemical odor, i would be so appriciated !!!!!!..
overall i would give this mattress 4 stars and pricing 5 stars.

Let me just say that I had a few doubts about buying a mattress online, especially without having tested the firmness or softness. Let's just say this mattress totally exceeded my expectations!
The delivery was quicker than estimated, and it was easy to unpack...just open up the package and it exapnds in no time flat! I'd say it expanded fully in about 8 or 9 hours, but definitely would have been sleepable (is that a word?) before then. There was a chemical odor but that is consistent with all memory foam mattresses from what I hear.
I have scoliosis which really messes with my back sometimes, and I have not had as much back pain since we got this mattress. My husband is 6'4" tall and the size suits him just fine, we have plenty of room on this California King size. The firmness of the mattress is just right for us...it's not the sort of foam that will let you sink down so deep that you can't get out. You sink down just enough to cushion your bones and curves. It definitely contours to your body. It is weird going from a regular spring mattress to a memory foam...if you try falling down on the mattress you'd normally expect a bouncy reaction from a spring mattress, but a memory foam gives you little to no bounce, but rather cushions your fall. I also can't feel my husband get into bed at night, or roll over, which is quite nice. (Reminds me of those commercials with someone jumping on the mattress with the wine glass..)
It's been a good couple weeks now since we've had the mattress and the chemical smell is all but gone, and I am sleeping better than ever with less tossing and turning. If you have any doubts about buying this mattress from this company, rest assured you will not be disappointed. It was so much cheaper than the name brands, and it is virtually the same product.
